This Week’s Homework – At the Park

This week, we’re exploring the theme At the Park, focusing on capturing outdoor scenes and the elements that make parks such lively and relaxing spaces. This challenge will help you practice perspective, composition, and natural textures.

Your Challenge:

Create a drawing inspired by a park scene. Think about what you might see—trees, pathways, playgrounds, people, animals, or even a quiet bench under the shade.

Tips for Success:

  • Start with basic shapes! Trees can begin as cylinders, benches as rectangles, and pathways as lines leading into the distance.

  • Think about perspective. Try a wide view of a whole park or zoom in on a single element like a swing, pond, bridge or a fountain.

  • Add movement. Include people or animals

walking, playing, or relaxing to bring life to your scene.

  • Experiment with textures. Use different strokes for grass, tree bark, or rippling water in a pond.

Once completed, don’t forget to upload your work to ClassDojo as a private message to Mrs. Cormack or email it to enquiries@sharzartdesign.com for written feedback.

Enjoy capturing the beauty of the outdoors!
