This Week’s Homework – Summer Time: Beach Landscapes
Last week we focussed on Summer Time as out drawing topic, this week’s homework is exploring this further by exploring the beauty of beach landscapes. From rolling waves to sandy shores, this challenge will help you practice composition, perspective, and texture in a fun and creative way.
Your Challenge:
Create a beach landscape drawing, capturing the essence of summer. You can include elements like the ocean, sand dunes, palm trees, seashells, beach castles and toys or even a sunset over the water.
Tips for Success:
- Start with a rough sketch. Map out the horizon line and key elements before adding details.
- Think about depth. Use size and perspective to show distance—larger objects in the foreground, smaller in the background.
- Experiment with textures. Try different shading techniques to create soft sand, rippling water, or fluffy clouds.
- Play with colour. If using colour, explore warm tones for the sand and cool blues for the water and sky.
Once completed, don’t forget to upload your work to ClassDojo as a private message to Mrs. Cormack or email it to enquiries@sharzartdesign.com for written feedback.
Enjoy creating your perfect summer scene!
